At Una Biologicals, we know that you expect nothing but the best and our Sweet Almond Body Butter passes the test. We've built our reputation by offering products that use high quality, animal friendly, and organic ingredients. This wonderful body butter is no exception!

Body butter is a product used to aid in moisturizing and for rejuvenation. It feels amazing when applied to dry skin and is especially great for use after the shower or for an extra bit of moisturizing during the day.

Una Biologicals' Sweet Almond Body Butter is an organic body butter that uses a formula of organic apricot, avocado, jojoba oil, and mango butter.

What Is Inside Our Sweet Almond Body Butter?

We know it can be difficult to find socially responsible products that match your commitment to being Earth-friendly and cruelty-free. That's why we are committed to being transparent about not only the ingredients we use, but also where they come from and how they are produced. Here is what's in our Sweet Almond Body Butter:

  • Distilled Water
  • Organic Jojoba Oil
  • Avocado Oil
  • Organic Apricot Oil
  • Beeswax
  • Fair Trade, Organic Mango Butter
  • Organic Rosemary Antioxidant
  • Non-GMO Citric Acid
  • Non-GMO Tocopherol
  • Almond Essential Oil

Organic Jojoba Oil

hypoallergenic, anti-inflammatory properties, and antimicrobial

Organic jojoba oil soothes and moisturizes the skin. It is hypoallergenic, has anti-inflammatory properties, and is also a natural antimicrobial. It works to attract water to the top layer of the skin, helping to keep the skin hydrated. This helps prevent bacterial infections and acne from forming. Jojoba oil contains the antioxidant vitamin E which helps your skin fight oxidative stress caused by environmental pollutants and other toxins.

Jojoba oil also regulates sebum production because it’s so similar to the sebum that your body produces naturally. When you put jojoba oil on your skin, your hair and sweat follicles think that your skin doesn’t need additional sebum for hydration. Your skin is soothed and moisturized without looking oily and your pores remain unclogged, helping to prevent acne.

Avocado Oil

It's probably no surprise that avocado oil is a great moisturizer as well. Avocado masks have become very popular lately. In fact, some people literally scoop half of an avocado out and spread it on their faces! That's because the beta carotene, protein, lecithin, fatty acids, and vitamins A, D, and E found in avocados help moisturize and protect your skin from damaging UV rays. The oil from avocados has all these ingredients and benefits as well.

It's no wonder that avocado oil is found in such products as lotions for chapped skin, moisturizers, and face masks. It is also found in anti-aging skin creams because it helps facilitate the production of collagen, the long-chain protein that your skin is made of.

Organic Apricot Oil

Besides having antioxidants and moisturizing properties, apricot oil also contains vitamin B17. (Yeah, we hadn't heard of it either!) Laetrile, or amygdalin (B17), is a naturally occurring chemical compound often found in the pips of many fruits such as apricots, apples, peaches, plums, or red cherries. The body can’t naturally produce B17, but needs it for the functioning of the immune system and as a beneficial anti-inflammatory.

Beeswax

Beeswax is perfect for bidning the oil and water for texture

Are you surprised that beeswax is a good ingredient for your skin? It's actually one of the oldest raw ingredients used in skincare. Beeswax is a very stable ingredient and a natural emulsifier. It is a great base in balms and creams because its ability to bind oils and water provides much needed texture. Like many ingredients on the list, it is hypoallergenic, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, and anti-bacterial. This makes it great for all skin types, but particularly beneficial for sensitive skin.
Beeswax is a natural exfoliator which means it helps remove dead skin leaving you feeling extra smooth. Like jojoba oil, it is also a humectant, meaning that it attracts water, drawing even more moisture to your skin. Beeswax is particularly exceptional because it forms a natural barrier on the skin surface, but allows it to breathe. This protects the skin from environmental irritants and harsh weather while keeping pores free from blockage, making it beneficial for acne-prone skin. This natural barrier prevents water loss, keeping skin soft and hydrated.

Fair Trade, Organic Mango Butter

Though slightly less famous than its cousins cocoa and shea butter, mango butter has a lot to offer when it comes to maintaining healthy, youthful, and beautiful skin. It has a lightweight, silky smooth, and incredibly rich and nourishing texture. Its popularity has been growing fast, as it is suitable for all skin types and can help treat many skin problems. It is easily absorbed and provides the deeper layers of the skin with essential nutrients, such as omega 6 and 9 fatty acids and vitamins A, C, and E.

Citric Acid and Tocopherol

help protect your skin from harmful radiation

That's vitamin C and vitamin E to you and me! These natural antioxidants are present in many of the ingredients we've already discussed. However, they're importance cannot be overstated. They help protect against damage caused by harmful UV radiation from the sun and from environmental pollutants. They help prevent free radicals from hurting skin cells’ DNA, which can lead to conditions like fine lines and skin laxity. When used topically, they help prevent many types of premature signs of aging. They are so important that we add extra to our Sweet Almond Body Butter, just to be sure!

Bitter Almond Essential Oil

Bitter almond essential oil contains oleic acid, a type of mono-saturated acid, plus omega-9 fatty acid giving it potent moisturizing properties. Since it is easily absorbed, it is able to deliver its high nutritional content deep within layers of the dermis to powerfully heal and nourish skin. It is rich in vitamin E, giving it the ability to fight off free radicals and reverse signs of aging like wrinkles and fine lines.

Its antibacterial and antimicrobial properties can help keep acne-causing bacteria at bay. Another popular use of this oil is for its ability to lighten and brighten skin. It helps to fade dark spots, dark circles under eyes, hyperpigmentation, and otherwise brighten your skin tone.
