    Organic Calendula Extract

Calendula oil has antibacterial antifungal and anti-inflammatory

If you have never heard of this ingredient, let us inform you about a few things. Calendula oil is an oil extracted from a flower called calendula in the marigold family.

The oil itself actually possesses antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties. This is really helpful, when it comes to addressing wounds, diaper rashes, and even eczema.

    Organic Comfrey Extract

Comfrey is a plant otherwise known as Symphytum officinale. The roots and leaves of the plant can be used to reduce inflammation from sprains or even broken bones.

The science behind it lies in the substance known as allantoin which is inside the roots and leaves of Comfrey. Allantoin can help new skin cells grow as well as help reduce inflammation.

    Organic St. Johns Wort Extract

A funny name huh? Well, this ingredient is fantastic for wound treatment. St. John’s Wort possesses antibacterial, antioxidant, and antiviral properties.

It is also anti-inflammatory which is perfect for applying to wounds on the skin. Minor wounds like burns, sunburns, bruises, and more can be treated by St. John’s Wort.

    Beeswax

Beeswax is another additive that you may be wondering about. Well, it has actually been proven that beeswax is a nutritive product that nourishes skin, aids in healing and regeneration, and calms irritation.

    Organic Chickweed Extract

Chickweed helps fight germs and heal wounds and infections

Chickweed has actually been used in traditional Chinese medicine. It was used for skin diseases and dermatitis.

This is because Chickweed can help to fight germs and help to heal both wounds and infections. It has the added benefit of soothing itchy skin, including bites and healing scabs.

    Blue Chamomile Essential Oil

Used since the ancient times of Egypt, Greece, and Rome, Chamomile is no stranger to wounds. It has been found that chamomile was often described to help wounds in the medical texts for thousands of years.

Among the different uses, chamomile has been used to fight wounds, ulcers and even sores.

    Tea Tree Essential Oil

Antibacterial, antifungal and anti-oxidant. Properties make Tea Tree a powerhouse oil.  contained in tea tree oil. This oil can be used to reduce inflammation, deter germs, and help to heal. Tea tree oil can be applied to cuts and scrapes to help the healing process.

Studies on the effectiveness of tea tree with wounds have been conducted. The results showed a decrease in healing time for all but one of the ten participants.

    Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender helps wounds create new tissue

We actually have an entire blog dedicated to our love for lavender essential oil. With that said, lavender oil is truly great for wounds & burns.

Another study we looked at was the benefit of applying lavender to wounds. By applying lavender to wounds, the formation of granulation tissue starts by way of collagen synthesis. From there the new tissue allows for the shrinking of wounds.

Additionally, lavender helps to take the sting out of burns almost immediately, and its antimicrobial properties help to protect healing skin.

    Need we say more?

Imagine all of them combined! So the next time you or someone you know takes a tumble that results in an injury, you will be glad you have our Wound Wonder on hand to speed up that healing process.
